Headstart Network Foundation, India's largest grass root level organization that supports entrepreneurship and startups launched its Odisha Chapter on 13th May 2017 at KIIT Technology Business Incubator. Shri LN Gupta - IAS, Principal Secretary, MSME Department, Odisha inaugurated the event in presence of Dr. Mrutyunjay Suar, CEO, KIIT-TBI, Mr. Tapendra Senapati - Co-founder & CEO, Tatwa Technologies Ltd and Ms. Smedha Sarkar, Founder & CEO, EduMaan Training Services. A ‘Startup Saturday’ event kickstarted with a theme “All about Fund Raising” where more than 40 aspiring entrepreneurs and startups participated.

Headstart is one of India's oldest and biggest startup communities. It is run by passionate volunteers committed to making Indian startups win by making networking, mentoring, hiring and fund raising accessible to every deserving entrepreneur in the country. Ms. Smedha Sarkar, who is also the country head of Headstart expressed the community’s commitment towards building a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem in Odisha as well and is seeking applications from leaders and doers who are passionate about entrepreneurship and have a keen desire to make a difference.

Mr. Tapendra Senapati inspired the attendees with his journey of building Tatwa Technologies into one of the largest players in its space. Having grown from a 3 member team to 3500 employees, Tatwa Technologies currently has it’s base of operation in 5 states with a valuation of more than 200 cores.

Shri LN Gupta shared the state government's commitment towards building a conducive environment for startups in Odisha. He detailed various funding opportunities and training programs available for startups through the recently launched Odisha Startup portal.
