ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Biotechnology Ignition Grant (BIG) North East Special Call is a flagship programme of BIRAC which ignites young startups and entrepreneurial individuals from and for North East to establish and validate a Proof of Concept (POC) for an idea.

Objectives

◉ Foster the generation of ideas with commercialization potential from and for North East.
◉ Upscale and validate proof of concept
◉ Encourage researchers to take technology closer to market through a start up
◉ Foster the entrepreneurial ecosystem of North East India.

Funding

up to INR 50 lakhs

Eligibility

◉ Individual Innovators with Graduate Degree in any discipline, Research Scholar, Scientist, Faculty belonging from North East or is willing to implement the venture in North East .
◉ Startups incorporated not more than 5 years ago from the date of application.
