ABOUT THE PROGRAM

KIIT TBI has been onboarded as one of the iDEX (Innovation for Defence Excellence) Partner Incubators at the Manthan program of DefExpo in Ahmedabad.
KIIT TBI is recognized as a Partner Incubator under iDEX with a mandate to support & nurture startups, entrepreneurs and MSMEs to build, deploy and commercialize cutting-edge technologies and products for the Indian military and defence PSUs.
KIIT TBI aims at creation of an ecosystem to foster innovation and technology development in Defence and Aerospace by engaging Industries including MSMEs, start-ups, individual innovators, R&D institutes & academia.

Objectives

Scout, Mentor & Nurture innovations which can co-create Made in India defence technologies for the Indian armed forces & other establishments.
Promote defence innovations at PAN India with major focus in east and northeast region of the country.
Implement various programs like – accelerators, grand challenges, etc. to support the identified Startups/MSMEs by iDEX-DIO.
Support the identified Startups/MSMEs with prototyping and piloting defence related products/technologies
Conduct out-reach and promotional undertakings for Defence India Startup Challenges/ Open Challenges/Prime Challenges/internships or any other activity

PROGRAMS AT iDEX KIIT - TBI

DEFENCE INDIA STARTUP CHALLENGES

Defence India Startup Challenge “has been launched by Ministry in partnership with Atal Innovation Mission, aimed at supporting Startups/MSMEs/Innovators to create prototypes and/or commercialize products/solutions in the area of National Defence and Security.
Grants Upto: INR 1.5 Cr, strictly on a milestone basis in the form of grant/equity/debt/other relevant structures.

OPEN CHALLENGE

If you think you have an idea, technology or a product that has use in defence and aerospace, then iDEX Open Challenge is the right opportunity for you to grab. Innovators, Startups and MSMEs can now engage directly with the military through the iDEX Open Challenge to showcase their technologies, facilitated by DIO and Partner Incubators.

IDEX PRIME

With an increased grant amount of Rs 10 cr, iDEX PRIME is launched with six problem statements from the Armed Forces for resolution by startups & innovators.The 1st edition of iDEX Prime (SPRINT) is launched with 6 Problem Statements(PS) from Indian Navy for resolution by startups & innovators.
Grants Upto: Half of the PDB, upto a ceiling of ₹10 CR

DefendX Accelerator Program

The DefendX: Defense Innovation Showcase Program in association with DRDO is a comprehensive platform that provides startups in the defence and aerospace sector with valuable support, mentorship, networking opportunities, and investment to help them grow and succeed. Startups in the defence sector will receive valuable mentorship, guidance, and feedback from experienced professionals in various fields such as military-grade technology, product development, fundraising, financial planning, IP ownership, business operations, etc. Additionally, the program also offers networking opportunities for startups to connect with potential investors and industry partners.
