ABOUT: GENESIS EiR 2.0

The Genesis Entrepreneur-in-Residence (EiR) Program at KIIT-TBI, supported by MeitY Startup Hub, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), is designed to nurture early-stage tech entrepreneurs with high-impact, scalable solutions. This program offers a structured pathway for aspiring founders to validate, refine, and scale their ideas through a supportive ecosystem that includes financial assistance, expert mentoring, market access, and infrastructure support. With a sharp focus on Tier-II and Tier-III cities, the GENESIS EiR initiative at KIIT-TBI seeks to bridge the gap between innovation and commercialization, especially in underserved regions. By empowering promising entrepreneurs with the right tools and guidance, the program aims to create sustainable innovators and startups that drive digitization, inclusivity, and economic growth in emerging innovation hubs.

OBJECTIVES: GENESIS EiR 2.0

Consolidate and strengthen the existing startup-centric schemes and MeitY programs.
Building Tier-II and Tier-III focused funding to support early & deep-tech Innovators & startups critically.
Community Building initiatives including workshops, boot camps, conferences etc. to strengthen the ecosystem and build brand and recognition of MeitY Startup Hub Supported Innovators & Startups-related Initiatives. All the activities under GENESIS EiR 2.0 shall be aligned to MeitY’s major initiatives including India AI, ISM, and India Stack etc.

FUNDING: GENESIS EiR 2.0

Up to INR 10 Lakhs Grant for 12 Months

ELIGIBILITY: GENESIS EiR 2.0

Only Indian citizens may apply.

Applicants must be full-time UG/PG students with entrepreneurial pursuits or founders/co-founders of DPIIT-registered startups (≤ 2 years old).

The EiR must be physically incubated at your centre.

Only applicants from Tier II & III cities are eligible.

Must not have received significant external funding (exceeding ₹10 lakh, including government grants).

Must not have been previously supported under any MeitY Schemes.

Applicants must be working on innovations at the stage of Ideation, Concept Development, Validation / Problem-Solution Fit, Proof of Concept (PoC), or Prototyping/Working Prototype in order to be considered for support under the GENESIS EiR Cohort 2 program.

The applicant must be committed to working full-time on the proposed startup idea during the EiR program duration.

EiRs working in following sector must only be considered to be eligible for EiR grant

Electronic design and manufacturing

Deeptech software and product

  • ICT space

Using following technology:

  • AI / ML
  • IoT
  • VLSI / Semiconductor
  • Cybersecurity
  • Blockchain
  • Quantum computing
  • AR / VR / Spatial and Immersive tech

EiR support will be extended only once under GENESIS.

Due Diligence & Onboarding

Signing of the EiR Agreement & Anchor Mentor will be assigned to each grantee.
