The GENESIS Scheme, launched by MeitY Startup Hub, is designed to accelerate the growth of innovative startups with Market validated solutions and proof of concept by providing them with robust investment opportunities and strategic ecosystem support. The Investment Component—featuring a unique 1:1 matching investment model—empowers startups to unlock new funding from venture capitalists, angel investors, and institutional sources, while simultaneously providing connections to customers, investors, and international markets.
OBJECTIVES: GENESIS - Investment Component
◉ Support promising startups—especially those from Tier-II and Tier-III cities with resources to scale their ventures rapidly.
◉ Bridge critical funding gaps by providing matching investment funding and pilot-stage financial support.
◉ Offer deep mentoring, helping startups strengthen market readiness and refine business strategies.
◉ Enhance investor outreach and connect startups with venture capitalists, angel investors, and key institutional stakeholders.
◉ Accelerate global growth by supporting international market entry and exposure opportunities.
FUNDING: GENESIS - Investment Component
Funding is a 1:1 matching Investment ranging up to 50 lakhs based on external funds raised (government grants are not considered).
ELIGIBILITY: GENESIS - Investment Component
◉ Must be a registered Indian entity (Private Limited Company) with at least 51% Indian ownership.
◉ Must be registered in a Tier-II or Tier-III city.
◉ Must have a valid DPIIT certificate.
◉ Should work on a tech-based product/software in domains like Deep-tech, AI/ML, Cybersecurity, IoT, Blockchain, Fintech, Ed-tech, or Health-tech.
◉ Must have a market-ready product and preferably be revenue-generating.
◉ Must not be involved in any legal disputes.
◉ Cannot be a startup previously supported under the TIDE 2.0 (Scale up) or SAMRIDH Accelerator schemes.
◉ The funding instrument will be Equity for Matching Contribution from MeitY Startup Hub.
