Technology Incubation and Development of Entrepreneurs Program

Upto INR 7 Lakhs Grant for 12 Months

ABOUT: MeitY TIDE 2.0 GRANT

The MeitY Startup Hub, MeitY, GoI has introduced the Technology Incubation and Development of Entrepreneurs (TIDE) 2.0 Grant program to support individuals and startups in developing and validating their Proof-of-Concept (POC). This initiative aims to assist entrepreneurs in advancing their ideas to the stage of a Prototype or Minimum Viable Product (MVP).

OBJECTIVES: MeitY TIDE 2.0 GRANT

To promote tech entrepreneurship through financial and technical support to incubators engaged in supporting ICT startups using emerging technologies such as IoT, AI, Block-chain, Robotics etc. in preidentified areas of societal relevance.
The Scheme will be implemented through empowering 51 incubators across India and handholding close to 2000 tech start-ups over a period of 5 years
The scheme envisions creating a holistic ecosystem to support technology startups and incubation centers through identifying and creating necessary linkages.

ELIGIBILITY: MeitY TIDE 2.0 GRANT

The TIDE 2.0 Grant applicant should be citizen of India. An Indian citizen is defined as one who is in possession of a government approved proof of nationality such as a valid passport, voter’s id etc.
The TIDE 2.0 Grant applicant should have completed:

  • Minimum 4 years of formal full time undergraduate/post graduate education towards one or more-degree programme. Basic degree or diploma should be in science or engineering.
  • 3 years degree or diploma program and have 2-year full time work experience post degree or diploma. Basic degree or diploma should be in science or engineering.

  1. You are working full time on developing the solution and have the required expertise or relevant experience or knowhow for the same.
  2. Your solution can address any of the problem statements mentioned for this Challenge grant.
  3. Your solution is addressing a real or existing market demand or requirement.
  4. Your solution is at either of these stages: Prototype Development/ Minimum Viable Product/ Pilot / Product Development.
  5. Your final solution once developed has the potential to be quickly commercialised and scaled.

For Grant

  • The TIDE 2.0 Grant applicant should have completed:
  • Minimum 4 years of formal full time undergraduate/post graduate education towards one or more-degree programme. Basic degree or diploma should be in science or engineering.
  • 3 years degree or diploma program and have 2-year full time work experience post degree or diploma. Basic degree or diploma should be in science or engineering.
  • TIDE 2.0 grant the support is a first-generation innovative entrepreneur, who has no prior source of income. TIDE 2.0 Grant support recipient should not treat this support as a stop gap arrangement to support them in their academic pursuits or transition between jobs.
  • TIDE 2.0-Grant seeking the support should demonstrate his ability to build a scalable technology business startup.
  • The TIDE 2.0-Grant support recipient should propose technology with ICT/software component in a prescribed format.
  • TIDE 2.0 Grant support recipient are expected to pursue their entrepreneurial aspirations full time. TIDE 2.0-Grant cannot be concurrent with any other remuneration or fellowship.
  • The startup should be incorporated in India with a minimum 51% of its equity held by Indian citizens.
  • The proposals to be supported should be preferably from the pre-identified thematic areas of societal relevance in the realms of health care; education; agriculture, financial inclusion including digital payments; infrastructure and transportation, environment and clean tech, clean energy solutions and other emerging tech areas.
  • Entrepreneurs pursuing business ideas with no or marginal technology innovation or those with very short journey (i.e less than 6 months) to commercialization are discouraged to apply.
  • TIDE 2.0 Grant fellows seeking support should have a formal business plan for the idea/POC they intend to pursue and a business presentation including the investment proposal.
  • The TIDE 2.0 Grant fellows seeking support must be has to register his/her own company within 3 months of the acceptance of Grant.

  1. Preferences will be given to Woman entrepreneurs.
  2. Preferences will be given to idea with a granted/published patent or atleast a provisional patent applied.
  3. Preferences will be given for a well-structured dedicated team working towards the innovation.
